making Informed decisions

safety in surgery

At Berkshire Aesthetics we offer many excellent non-surgical or minimally invasive treatments however in some situations there is no substitute for surgery. According to BAAPS over 28,000 cosmetic surgery procedures were undertaken in the UK in 2018, of which 92% were by women, with 12,000 of these being breast augmentations and reductions.

Regardless of whether you choose to undergo a procedure with us or would like to explore your surgical options our doctors are ideally placed to support you in your decision.

For those wanting to undertake their own independent research BAAPS provides consumer safety guidance which recommends you understand as much as you can about the procedure, your consultant and the risks associated. Examples questions to ask include:

  • What care can I can expect post-surgery)?
  • Who will look after me?
  • How long will I need to be home/off from work for recovery
  • What happens if something goes wrong?
  • What if I’m not pleased with the result?
  • How much will it cost, including my aftercare?
  • Will it cost extra to have further treatment if something goes wrong?
If at any point you would like to discuss your options or learn more about any aspect of surgery then we are here to help.
