Ultherapy skin lifting treatment at Berkshire Aesthetics

Ultherapy non-surgical lift treatment in Maidenhead

Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound with real-time imaging to lift and tighten skin without surgery. It targets precise tissue depths — including the SMAS layer — to stimulate new collagen and elastin. At Berkshire Aesthetics in Maidenhead, treatment is delivered by our doctor-led team within a CQC-registered clinic, with clear guidance on what Ultherapy can and cannot achieve.

Why we start with a consultation

Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.

During your consultation, Dr Langdon will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate.

Doctor-led approach

Clinical overview

Ultherapy delivers micro-focused ultrasound energy (MFU-V) to controlled depths in the skin — typically at 1.5 mm (dermis), 3.0 mm (deep dermis), and 4.5 mm (SMAS). This creates discrete thermal coagulation points that trigger collagen and elastin remodelling, resulting in gradual lifting and tightening. What distinguishes Ultherapy from many other energy-based devices is real-time ultrasound imaging (DeepSEE), which allows the clinician to visualise tissue layers and align treatment precisely with anatomy. This is the same ultrasound layer targeted in surgical facelifts, approached non-invasively. We use Ultherapy selectively for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity who want tightening without surgery and who understand that results build gradually over 3–6 months. For advanced laxity, we will discuss surgical options honestly rather than over-promising what non-surgical treatment can achieve.

Key Benefits

  • Non-surgical lifting and tightening targeting the SMAS layer — the same layer addressed in surgical facelifts
  • Imaging-guided treatment for precise energy delivery aligned with your anatomy
  • FDA-cleared indications including brow lift, submental/neck lift, and décolletage lines
  • Gradual, natural-looking results that build over 3–6 months
  • Minimal downtime — most patients return to routine activities the same day

Suitable For

  • Mild to moderate skin laxity in brow, lower face, jawline, neck or décolletage
  • Patients who want lifting and tightening without surgery
  • Those who understand results are gradual (3–6 months) and vary by individual
  • People seeking a treatment with minimal downtime
  • Often works well combined with other skin quality or volume treatments

Not Suitable For

  • Advanced skin laxity that would be better addressed surgically
  • Active infection or dermatologic disease in the treatment area
  • Contraindicated implants or devices in the treatment field (assessed during consultation)
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Anyone with unrealistic expectations of surgical-level results from a non-surgical procedure

Final suitability is confirmed during a medical consultation and assessment.

When we don't recommend it

  • If laxity is too advanced — Ultherapy cannot replicate the results of a surgical facelift and we will explain this honestly.
  • If there is active infection or skin disease in the treatment area — treatment should be delayed.
  • If contraindicated implants or devices are present in the treatment field — suitability is assessed individually.
  • If expectations exceed what non-surgical tightening can deliver — we will discuss alternatives openly.
  • If another treatment or combination would be more effective — for example, RF microneedling for texture concerns or threads for mechanical lift.

What Happens During Treatment

  1. 1Clinical consultation including assessment of skin laxity, quality, anatomy and medical history
  2. 2Discussion of expected outcomes, limitations, risks and alternatives (including when we may recommend something else)
  3. 3Area mapping and treatment planning with line allocation by indication
  4. 4Skin preparation, ultrasound imaging, depth selection and treatment delivery
  5. 5Immediate return to routine activities for most patients; review scheduled at 3–6 months

  • Mild redness may be visible for a few hours
  • Avoid excessive heat exposure and intense exercise for 24 hours
  • If you experience unexpected or worsening symptoms, contact the clinic

Results Timeline

  • Some early tightening may be felt; visible lift builds over 3–6 months as collagen remodelling matures.
  • Many patients start with one full treatment; maintenance may be considered from 12–18 months.
  • A review appointment is scheduled to assess outcomes and discuss maintenance.

How Long Results May Last

Frequently Asked Questions

Collagen remodelling is gradual. Most patients notice lift and definition developing over 3–6 months, with results lasting 12–18 months or longer depending on area and lifestyle.
You will feel brief heat or tingling at each ultrasound shot. We offer comfort options and optimise technique while maintaining treatment efficacy. Temporary tenderness can persist for a few days.
Many patients start with one full treatment. Maintenance may be considered from 12–18 months based on your goals and response.
Yes. Ultrasound energy is not chromophore-dependent, so it is generally safe across all skin tones. We screen for contraindications during consultation.
Both improve laxity and skin quality. Ultherapy targets deeper tissue layers (including SMAS) with ultrasound for lifting. RF microneedling (such as Morpheus8) uses radiofrequency via needles to improve texture and tightening. They are often complementary.
No. Ultherapy provides non-surgical lifting for mild to moderate laxity. For advanced sagging, a surgical facelift may be more appropriate. We will discuss this honestly during consultation.
We provide transparent pricing at consultation, tailored to your treatment plan. Cost depends on the areas treated and the number of lines delivered. Your doctor will explain all costs clearly.
Your first visit is a doctor-led consultation. We assess your skin laxity, discuss realistic expectations, review your medical history and plan your treatment including comfort measures.
Most patients return to normal activities the same day. Mild tenderness or swelling may be present but is usually manageable and does not prevent work or social activities.
Yes. Ultherapy is often combined with skin-quality treatments such as Profhilo or RF microneedling for a comprehensive approach. Timing and sequencing are planned during your consultation.
All treatments are delivered by trained clinicians under doctor-led oversight. Real-time ultrasound imaging guides energy delivery precisely. Contraindications and comfort measures are discussed at consultation.
