Why we start with a consultation
Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.
During your consultation, Dr Langdon will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate.
All bookings are subject to our Booking Conditions.

Clinical overview
Cellenis Autologous BioFiller uses a patented process to create a natural, injectable gel from the patient's own blood. A blood sample is drawn, centrifuged to separate the plasma fraction, and then heat-treated to form a gel with volumising properties. This autologous bio-filler is then injected into targeted areas to restore volume and improve skin quality. Because the filler is derived from your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction or rejection is extremely low. The treatment is particularly suited to patients who prefer a natural, biocompatible approach to volume restoration, or those who wish to avoid synthetic fillers. We use Cellenis selectively for patients whose concerns and anatomy are appropriate for autologous volumising. It is not a direct substitute for all synthetic filler applications, and suitability is confirmed during consultation where we assess your goals, facial anatomy, medical history and expectations.
Key Benefits
- 100% autologous — derived entirely from your own blood, minimising risk of allergic reaction
- Natural volumising effect without synthetic fillers
- Biocompatible and well-tolerated by the body
- Can treat multiple facial areas including cheeks, lips, jawline and under-eye hollows
- Supports natural tissue regeneration alongside volume restoration
Suitable For
- Patients who prefer a natural, biocompatible approach to facial volume restoration
- Those who wish to avoid synthetic dermal fillers
- Volume loss in cheeks, jawline, lips or under-eye hollows
- Patients looking for a treatment with a very low risk of allergic reaction
- Those who want to combine volume restoration with natural tissue regeneration
Not Suitable For
- Patients with blood disorders or conditions affecting platelet or plasma quality
- Active infection or inflammation in the area to be treated (treatment should be delayed)
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Patients on anticoagulant therapy (assessed during consultation; may need medical clearance)
- Those expecting identical results to synthetic HA fillers — the volumising effect and longevity differ
Final suitability is confirmed during a medical consultation and assessment.
When we don't recommend it
- If you need precise, predictable volumising in areas where synthetic HA filler is clearly the more effective option — we will be honest about this and recommend accordingly.
- If there is an underlying blood disorder or medical condition that may affect the quality or safety of the autologous product — suitability is assessed clinically.
- If active infection or inflammation is present — treatment should be delayed until the area is settled and safe to treat.
- If your expectations are for results identical to synthetic filler — Cellenis provides a natural volumising effect with different characteristics and longevity.
- If a combination approach (e.g. Cellenis with other treatments) would deliver a more effective result — we will discuss this openly.
What Happens During Treatment
- 1Clinical consultation and suitability assessment, including medical history, blood health considerations and your goals
- 2A small blood sample is drawn (similar to a routine blood test)
- 3The blood is centrifuged to separate the plasma fraction, which is then heat-treated to create the bio-filler gel
- 4Topical anaesthetic is applied to ensure comfort, and the Cellenis gel is injected into targeted areas
- 5Post-treatment checks and clear aftercare instructions, including what to expect in the days following treatment
Downtime & Aftercare
- Mild swelling and bruising are common and typically settle within 1–3 days
- Avoid heavy exercise, saunas/steam rooms and alcohol for 24–48 hours
- Avoid touching or massaging the treated area unless instructed
- Apply cold compresses gently if swelling is uncomfortable (avoid direct ice on skin)
- If you have unexpected or worsening symptoms, contact the clinic for advice
Results Timeline
- Initial volume is visible immediately, though some swelling may mask the final result for the first few days.
- Results settle and refine over 1–2 weeks as swelling subsides.
- A second session may be recommended 4–8 weeks later to optimise results, depending on assessment.
How Long Results May Last
- •Results typically last 6–12 months, depending on the individual, treatment area and lifestyle factors.
- •The autologous nature of the filler means results are gradually absorbed naturally by the body.
- •Maintenance sessions can be planned to sustain volume over time.
Individual results vary. View our results and photography standards
