The HydraFacial Process

The HydraFacial treatment is a multi-step process designed to cleanse, hydrate, and rejuvenate your skin. Here is what you can expect during your session at Berkshire Aesthetics:

1. Cleansing and Exfoliation

The first step involves removing dead skin cells and impurities from the surface of your skin. Using the HydraFacial device’s unique vortex technology, your skin is gently cleansed and exfoliated to reveal a fresh, clean layer underneath.

2. Acid Peel

Next, a gentle acid peel is applied to loosen dirt and debris from your pores without causing irritation. This step is highly effective in removing impurities while maintaining your skin’s natural balance.

3. Extraction

Using the device’s specialised suction technology, blackheads, and other impurities are extracted from your pores. This step is painless and ensures your skin is deeply cleansed.

4. Hydration

Your skin is then infused with nourishing serums packed with antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. These ingredients work to hydrate and protect your skin, leaving it looking plump and youthful.

5. Protection

The final step involves applying a protective layer to your skin to lock in moisture and nutrients. This ensures your skin remains hydrated and protected from environmental stressors.

Benefits of HydraFacial

The HydraFacial offers numerous benefits, making it one of the most sought-after treatments at Berkshire Aesthetics. Here are just a few reasons why clients love HydraFacial:

Immediate Results

One of the biggest advantages of HydraFacial is that it delivers immediate, visible results. After just one session, your skin will look clearer, brighter, and more hydrated.

Suitable for All Skin Types

HydraFacial is designed to be gentle enough for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Whether you have dry, oily, or combination skin, this treatment can be customised to meet your needs.

Non-Invasive and Painless

Unlike other skin treatments, HydraFacial is non-invasive and completely painless. There is no downtime, meaning you can return to your normal activities immediately after your session.

Targets Multiple Skin Concerns

From fine lines and wrinkles to acne and pigmentation, HydraFacial can address a wide range of skin concerns. Its multi-step process ensures your skin is treated from every angle.

Boosts Overall Skin Health

By cleansing, hydrating, and protecting your skin, HydraFacial helps to improve your overall skin health. Regular treatments can result in a more youthful, radiant complexion over time.

Who Can Benefit from HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is suitable for almost everyone, making it an ideal choice for those looking to improve their skin’s appearance and health. Some of the most common skin concerns treated with HydraFacial include:

  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles: The hydrating serums and gentle exfoliation help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving your skin looking smoother and more youthful.
  • Acne and Congestion: The extraction process removes dirt, oil, and impurities from your pores, making it an excellent treatment for acne-prone skin.
  • Hyperpigmentation: HydraFacial can help to even out your skin tone by reducing the appearance of pigmentation and sun damage.
  • Dryness: The hydrating serums used during the treatment provide intense moisture, making it ideal for those with dry or dehydrated skin.
  • Sensitive Skin: HydraFacial is gentle enough for sensitive skin, ensuring you can achieve glowing skin without irritation.

How Often Should You Have a HydraFacial?

For optimal results, we recommend having a HydraFacial every four to six weeks. This allows your skin to maintain its health and radiance while addressing any ongoing concerns. However, the frequency of treatments can vary depending on your individual needs and goals. During your consultation at Berkshire Aesthetics, we will create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your skin.

Combining HydraFacial with Other Treatments

At Berkshire Aesthetics, we offer a wide range of aesthetic treatments that can be combined with HydraFacial for enhanced results. Some popular combinations include:

  • HydraFacial and Dermal Fillers: Pairing HydraFacial with dermal fillers can help to achieve a more youthful appearance by addressing both skin texture and volume loss.
  • HydraFacial and Anti-Wrinkle Injections: This combination targets fine lines and wrinkles while improving your skin’s overall health and hydration.
  • HydraFacial and LED Light Therapy: Combining HydraFacial with LED light therapy can enhance the treatment’s effectiveness by reducing inflammation and promoting collagen production.

Our experienced clinicians will guide you in choosing the best combination of treatments to meet your unique skincare goals.

HydraFacial consists of a 6 step process; Detox, Deep cleanse and exfoliation, Acid Peel, Extraction, Hydrate and Rejuvenation. The treatment starts off with lymphatic drainage to improve the skins circulation and to drain away toxins. It then deep cleanses the skin using a gentle vacuum and abrasive tip to exfoliate dead skin cells and excess sebum from the skin. Next, a Glysal peel is applied onto the skin which is a mix of salicylic and glycolic acids which help to break up any dirt and oil that is clogging the pores. The HydraPeel tip is then used to vacuum out any blackheads, dirt oil and impurities in a gentle fashion without causing any breakage of the skin and discomfort to the patient. Once the skin has been deeply cleansed a blend of hyaluronic acid and antioxidant infused serum is applied to the skin to deeply hydrate and nourish the skin. Lastly a multifunction LED light mask is applied on to the skin for more skin rejuvenation and soothing.

The HydraFacial treatment is suitable for all skin types. At Berkshire Aesthetics we offer 6 different HydraFacial protocols which have been designed to treat different types of skin conditions.

  1. Skin health for life– uses serums containing antioxidants, peptides, hyaluronic acid to boost hydration, deep cleanses and protects the skin from environmental damage.
  2. Antiaging- This targeted protocol uses a multi-peptide anti-aging serum to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, while also improving the skins elasticity for visibly noticeable tightening and plumping of the skin.
  3. Pigmentation- This brightening protocol has been powered by the ZO skin health Brightalive serum designed to brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of pigmentation.
  4. Redness/ rosacea- This protocol has been designed to minimise the appearance of red and sensitised skin. It uses the ZO skin health Rozatrol Serum to soothe the skin through hydration and targeting excess sebum build up.
  5. Acne and congested skin- The acne protocol helps to improve active acne by deep cleansing the skin and reducing the build-up of excess oils. The skin is exfoliated using salicylic acid and application of different strength glycolic peels.
  6. Body– The body protocol has been designed to commonly treat areas such as: back, arms and chest for treatment of body acne or keratosis pilaris (patches of dry, bumpy and rough skin).

The treatment duration depends on the recommended protocol.

The standard HydraFacial ‘skin health for life’ protocol is 60 minutes and the HydraFacial treatments with booster serums are 90 minutes.

The HydraFacial treatment is very comfortable and relaxing for the patient. Patients will feel a gentle vacuum suction and abrasion on the skin from the hand piece.

A mild tingling sensation may also be present during the application of the Glysal peel.

The amount of treatments needed is dependent on the individual and their skin condition. Usually a course of 6 treatments will be recommended at 4 to 6 week intervals for optimal results. Many of our patients however choose to have one every month to ensure their skin remains healthy and the treatment really is a great little boost for your skin.

Prior to treatment, patients are advised to avoid excessive sun exposure at least 2 weeks prior to course of treatment.

Patients are advised to avoid deep depth chemical peels and laser resurfacing 4-6 weeks prior to treatment. Superficial/medium depth peels should be completed 2 weeks prior to HydraFacial.

Patients are advised to follow a skincare routine recommended by their practitioner to achieve best treatment results.

Yes, HydraFacial is a very safe treatment which involves no downtime. As the machine only uses safe vortex pressure and serums for extractions there is no risk of scarring or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

The HydraFacial treatment involves no downtime. Some patients may occasionally experience mild redness post treatment which should subside within 24hours.

The risk of side effects occurring from HydraFacial is very low. Your therapist will check your suitability to treatment and contraindications prior to the treatment to minimise the risk of complications occurring. Some of the possible side effects include an allergic reaction to the HydraFacial serums (some serums contain shellfish and aspirin derivatives – these will be discussed during your consultation and prior to any treatment being offered)

Results can be seen immediately after the first treatment. The skin will appear fresh, rejuvenated and hydrated; this effect will usually last up to 2 weeks. Optimal results are seen after the full course of 6 treatments. Results can be maintained by undertaking the treatment on a monthly basis and as part of a good skin health routine.

Following a HydraFacial treatment patients are advised to keep their skin free of makeup and to avoid heated treatments for at least 24 hours. Patients are also advised to continue using the recommended skincare regime in order to promote further hydration and rejuvenation to their skin. Additionally patients should avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum sunscreen every day.
