Cutera Excel V+ is a vascular-focused laser platform that targets visible blood vessels and redness with two wavelengths. In practical terms, this means we can treat a broad range of vessel sizes and depths across the cheeks, nose, chin and periocular area under doctor-led assessment.

At Berkshire Aesthetics, Excel V+ is commonly used for rosacea-associated redness, facial thread veins, cherry angiomas and selected pigment patterns where vascular contribution is significant. Treatment planning is personalised, and not every redness concern is best managed by a single laser session.

Who This Is Usually Best For

  • Diffuse redness and flushing patterns associated with rosacea
  • Thread veins and spider veins on the face
  • Cherry angiomas and selected benign vascular lesions
  • Periorbital veins in carefully selected patients
  • Red post-inflammatory marks after acne (selected cases)

Final suitability depends on diagnosis, skin type, medication history and whether inflammation is currently active.

Excel V+ vs IPL: When We Use Each

Excel V+ is often selected when vessel targeting and precision are priority goals. For broader diffuse colour correction, mixed photodamage, or multi-module planning, we may instead choose or combine treatment with the Lumenis M22 platform.

If you are comparing options, read our Lumenis M22 IPL and ResurFX guide and rosacea laser treatment guide.

Downtime, Recovery and Safety

Most patients experience short-term redness and mild swelling for 24 to 72 hours. Vascular endpoints can occasionally create temporary darkening or a "bruised" appearance in treated vessel tracks, particularly where higher fluence is required.

Sun protection is essential before and after treatment. We do not treat over active infection, significant tan, or where contraindications are present. All patients receive written aftercare and safety-net advice.

Why we start with a consultation

Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.

During your consultation, Dr Langdon will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate.
