Emsella

Non-invasive treatment for urinary stress incontinence

Emsella explained

Emsella is a breakthrough treatment for incontinence. This unique technology revolutionizes intimate health and wellness by providing those suffering from incontinence with a completely non-invasive treatment option. The treatment on RealSelf has an 88% ‘worth it’ rating which can her found here.

Emsella is backed by real research that showed excellent patient outcomes and “according to the baseline evaluation, patients most frequently reported they had been experiencing leakage about one time per day. At the 3‐month follow‐up, most of them mentioned that leakage occurred only about once a week or less” The research can be read here.

The Emsella chair induces thousands of supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions, which are extremely important in muscle re-education of incontinent patients. By engaging and strengthening the pelvic floor the incidents of stress incontinence can be relieved. In our experience, patients typically see improvements within weeks and all have reported a considerable improvement in their comfort and lifestyle.

Emsella FAQs

Emsella is used to treat stress incontinence but can also be used for general pelvic floor weakness.

Emsella is based on focused electromagnetic energy. A single Emsella session induces thousands of supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions, which are extremely important in muscle re-education of incontinent patients. The series of contractions help to engage the muscles and build strength which is lost with age or post-pregnancy.

Emsella is suitable for anyone looking for a non-invasive, fully clothed treatment which will improve pelvic floor strength and reduce stress incontinence.

The Emsella treatment takes 28 minutes. During the treatment you are fully clothed and can sit and watch television or read a magazine.

Emsella feels simliar to doing pelvic floor exercises. The device will engage the same muscles causes them to contract. While the muscle contractions are involuntary, patients are asked to contract along with the treatment to help engage and build the neural pathways which control the muscles.

The treatment protocol is for six treatments spaced 3 to 4 days apart.

No special preperation is required.

Yes, Emsella is safe. The treatment is both CE medical marked and FDA approved.

There is no downtime. You can return to your normal activities immediately.

There are no side effects.

Patients sometimes report an improvement after the first session. Typically results will be most noticeable several weeks following completion of the course.
