Emsculpt Neo

Build muscle and reduce fat simultaneously — no surgery, no downtime

Book Consultation

Emsculpt Neo is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that simultaneously builds muscle and reduces fat using two technologies in a single 30-minute session. HIFEM (high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy) triggers approximately 20,000 supramaximal muscle contractions, while synchronised radiofrequency energy heats and destroys subcutaneous fat cells.

Clinical studies show an average 25% increase in muscle mass and 30% reduction in subcutaneous fat in the treated area. At Berkshire Aesthetics in Maidenhead, Emsculpt Neo is delivered within our CQC-registered, doctor-led clinic with a thorough suitability assessment before treatment begins.

Emsculpt Neo is not a weight-loss treatment. It is designed for patients at or near a healthy weight who want to improve muscle tone, reduce localised fat, or address concerns such as post-pregnancy core weakness or plateaued training results.

How Emsculpt Neo works

Muscle building

HIFEM energy induces supramaximal muscle contractions — approximately 20,000 per session — that cannot be achieved through voluntary exercise. This stimulates muscle fibre growth and strengthening.

Fat reduction

Synchronised radiofrequency energy heats the subcutaneous fat layer, causing apoptosis (controlled fat cell death). The body naturally processes and eliminates these fat cells over the following weeks.

Dual results

The combination of muscle building and fat reduction produces visible improvements in body contour, tone and definition. Results develop progressively over 8–12 weeks after completing a course.

What to expect

1

Consultation

A clinical assessment to evaluate your body composition, discuss your goals, confirm suitability and plan your treatment course. All contraindications are screened.

2

Treatment

The Emsculpt Neo applicator is placed on the target area. Each 30-minute session delivers simultaneous HIFEM contractions and radiofrequency energy. Intensity is gradually increased for comfort.

3

Results

Muscle tone improvements may be felt within days. Full results develop over 8–12 weeks as muscle remodelling occurs and the body clears treated fat cells. Maintenance sessions are recommended.

Clinical results

Clinical studies on Emsculpt Neo demonstrate measurable improvements in body composition:

25%

average increase in muscle mass

30%

average reduction in subcutaneous fat

19%

average reduction in abdominal muscle separation (diastasis recti)

Results are averages from clinical studies and may vary between individuals. Individual outcomes depend on baseline body composition, treatment area, number of sessions and lifestyle factors.

Treatment combinations

Emsculpt Neo works well as part of a comprehensive body contouring plan. Popular combinations include:

Emsculpt Neo + CoolSculpting

The most popular combination for comprehensive body contouring. CoolSculpting reduces stubborn fat, then Emsculpt Neo builds and tones the underlying muscles for a more defined result.

Frequently asked questions

Emsculpt Neo combines two technologies simultaneously: HIFEM (high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy) triggers approximately 20,000 supramaximal muscle contractions per session — far beyond what voluntary exercise can achieve. At the same time, synchronised radiofrequency energy heats and damages subcutaneous fat cells. The result is muscle building and fat reduction in a single 30-minute treatment.
No. Emsculpt Neo is designed for body contouring — improving muscle definition and reducing localised fat — in patients who are already at or near a healthy weight. It is not a substitute for diet, exercise or a weight-loss programme.
Emsculpt Neo can treat the abdomen, buttocks, thighs (inner and outer), upper arms (biceps and triceps) and calves. Treatment areas are confirmed during your consultation based on your goals and anatomy.
A typical course is 4–6 sessions, usually scheduled 5–10 days apart. Your treatment plan is agreed during consultation based on your goals and the areas being treated.
Some patients feel improved muscle tone within days of starting. Full results — both muscle building and fat reduction — typically develop over 8–12 weeks as the body continues to build muscle fibres and eliminate damaged fat cells.
The treatment feels like an intensive workout with strong muscle contractions and a warming sensation from the radiofrequency. Intensity is gradually increased and can be adjusted for comfort throughout the session. Most patients tolerate it well.
There is no downtime. You can return to normal activities, including exercise, immediately. The treated area may feel similar to post-workout soreness, which typically resolves within 1–2 days.
Emsculpt Neo starts from £199 per session. The total cost depends on the areas treated and the number of sessions in your recommended course, which is discussed during your consultation.
Emsculpt Neo builds muscle and reduces fat simultaneously using HIFEM and radiofrequency. CoolSculpting targets fat reduction only using cryolipolysis. Many patients benefit from combining both: CoolSculpting for stubborn fat pockets, then Emsculpt Neo for muscle toning and definition.
Yes. Emsculpt Neo is commonly combined with CoolSculpting for comprehensive body contouring. It also pairs well with EMSella for pelvic floor and core strengthening (the Core to Floor programme). All combinations are planned during consultation.
Emsculpt Neo is not suitable for patients with pacemakers, implanted cardiac defibrillators, metal implants near the treatment area, active hernias, or during pregnancy. It is also not appropriate as a weight-loss programme. All contraindications are screened during consultation.
Results are influenced by ongoing diet, exercise and lifestyle. Muscle gains can be maintained with regular exercise. Fat reduction in treated cells is long-lasting provided weight is maintained. Maintenance sessions every 3–6 months are recommended to sustain results.

Why we start with a consultation

Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.

During your consultation, your clinician will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate. Consultations are carried out by our doctors or advanced aesthetic practitioners, depending on the treatment or concern being assessed.
