Stubborn Fat Treatments

Non-surgical management of localised adiposity resistant to lifestyle modification

Localised adipose deposits resistant to dietary and exercise intervention represent a common body contouring indication. At Berkshire Aesthetics, our medical assessment evaluates adipose distribution, tissue quality and patient suitability before recommending clinically validated non-invasive fat reduction modalities including cryolipolysis and high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology.

Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities

Treatment selection is individualised following clinical assessment, taking into account disease severity, Fitzpatrick skin type, medical history and patient goals.

Why we start with a consultation

Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.

During your consultation, Dr Langdon will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate.

Clinical FAQs: Stubborn Fat

CoolSculpting permanently destroys treated fat cells, which do not regenerate. However, remaining fat cells can enlarge with weight gain, so maintaining a stable weight helps preserve results.
Clinical studies show an average 20–25% reduction in fat layer thickness per CoolSculpting treatment in the targeted area. Results vary by individual. This is not a weight-loss treatment.
CoolSculpting freezes and eliminates fat cells. EMSculpt Neo combines fat reduction with muscle building. Your doctor will recommend the most appropriate option based on your goals and anatomy.
CoolSculpting may cause temporary numbness, redness and mild tenderness in the treated area. EMSculpt Neo has no downtime. Both treatments allow you to return to normal activities the same day.
These treatments are designed for patients near their target weight with localised fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise. They are not weight-loss solutions. Suitability is assessed during consultation.
CoolSculpting results develop over 2–4 months as the body eliminates treated fat cells. EMSculpt Neo results are typically visible within 2–4 weeks after completing a course of treatments.
Many patients achieve their goals with 1–2 CoolSculpting sessions per area. EMSculpt Neo typically involves 4 sessions over 2 weeks. Your doctor will recommend a plan tailored to your needs.
