Berkshire Aesthetics is a doctor-led, CQC-registered aesthetic clinic in Maidenhead. All treatments begin with a consultation to assess suitability, medical history, risks and realistic outcomes.
Is Ultherapy worth it?
Ultherapy is most likely to be worth it for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity who want a gradual non-surgical lift and tightening effect and accept that results build over three to six months. It uses imaging-guided microfocused ultrasound with visualisation (MFU-V) to deliver energy at defined depths. It is less effective for advanced laxity, where a surgical opinion should be discussed honestly and outcomes vary by individual.
Book a consultationWhen this may help
- You have mild to moderate laxity of the brow, lower face, jawline or neck.
- You want a non-surgical option and accept gradual change over months.
- You are comfortable with a single-session treatment and possible mild discomfort.
When this may not be suitable
- You have significant skin laxity that would be better addressed surgically.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have active infection in the treatment area.
- You have metallic implants in the planned treatment zone.
- You expect an immediate or dramatic surgical-level lift.
Risks and limitations
- Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness and tingling are common after treatment.
- Bruising, transient nerve effects or uneven response are uncommon but possible.
- Underwhelming improvement if laxity is more advanced than the treatment is designed to address.
What we assess in consultation
- Degree of laxity versus volume loss
- Whether non-surgical lift or surgical opinion is more appropriate
- Medical history, implants and contraindications
- Realistic timeline of result and maintenance

When will I see Ultherapy results?
Most patients see gradual change over three to six months as collagen remodelling occurs. Outcomes vary by individual.
Is Ultherapy a substitute for a facelift?
No. Ultherapy can support mild to moderate laxity but is not a substitute for surgical lifting where laxity is advanced.
How long do results last?
Results typically last around a year or longer, depending on age, skin quality and lifestyle. Maintenance may be considered.
