Berkshire Aesthetics is a doctor-led, CQC-registered aesthetic clinic in Maidenhead. All treatments begin with a consultation to assess suitability, medical history, risks and realistic outcomes.
Does CoolSculpting work?
CoolSculpting cryolipolysis is supported by published evidence for a reduction of around 20 to 25 per cent of the fat in a treated pocket in suitable candidates, with results developing over 8 to 12 weeks. It is a contouring treatment for discrete, pinchable areas of subcutaneous fat, not a weight-loss treatment or a substitute for diet, exercise or surgery. Outcomes vary by individual and are best assessed in a doctor-led consultation.
Book a consultationWhen this may help
- You have localised, pinchable pockets of fat that have not responded to lifestyle measures.
- You are at or near a stable weight and want non-surgical contouring of a defined area.
- You understand results develop gradually and that more than one cycle may be advised.
When this may not be suitable
- Your primary goal is overall weight loss rather than localised fat reduction.
- You have significant skin laxity, hernias or relevant cold-sensitivity conditions.
- You expect surgical-level reshaping from a non-surgical treatment.
Risks and limitations
- Temporary redness, swelling, bruising, numbness and tenderness are common.
- Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia is a recognised but rare complication.
- Underwhelming results if expectations or patient selection are not realistic.
What we assess in consultation
- Whether the concern is truly suitable for cryolipolysis
- Applicator choice and number of cycles needed
- Realistic expected reduction and timeline
- Discussion of alternatives such as Emsculpt Neo or no treatment

How much fat does CoolSculpting remove?

When will I see results?
Results typically develop gradually over 8 to 12 weeks as the body processes the affected fat cells.
Is it a weight-loss treatment?
No. CoolSculpting is intended for contouring of localised fat pockets, not for weight loss or for treating obesity.
