Morpheus8 is a fractional treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy. The device delivers controlled RF energy through fine needles into the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. This remodels the tissue from within, improving skin texture, tightness and tone. It is suitable for the face, neck and body, and is safe for all skin tones including darker complexions.
Who is it for?
- Adults with mild to moderate skin laxity on the face, neck or body
- Patients with acne scarring seeking smoother skin texture
- Those with uneven skin tone or enlarged pores
- Individuals with fine lines who are not ready for surgical intervention
- Patients with a loose or poorly defined jawline
- Those seeking skin rejuvenation suitable for all skin tones

What to expect
Consultation
Dr Langdon will assess your skin, discuss your concerns and goals, and determine whether Morpheus8 is the most appropriate treatment for you. A personalised treatment plan is created.
Treatment
After applying topical anaesthetic, the Morpheus8 device is used to deliver RF energy through microneedles. Treatment takes approximately 30–60 minutes depending on the area.
Aftercare
Expect redness and mild swelling for 3–7 days. Written aftercare instructions are provided. Results develop progressively over 3–6 months as new collagen forms.
Risks & considerations
Morpheus8 is a well-tolerated treatment, but all procedures carry some risk. These are discussed during your consultation.
- Redness, swelling and warmth at the treatment site for 3–7 days
- Mild peeling or flaking as the skin heals
- Temporary sensitivity to sun exposure — SPF is essential during recovery
- Rare: temporary pigment changes, which typically resolve within a few weeks

Frequently Asked Questions
How many Morpheus8 sessions are needed?
A typical treatment course consists of 3 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. The number of sessions depends on your specific concerns and treatment goals, which Dr Langdon will discuss during your consultation.
Does Morpheus8 hurt?
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied before treatment to minimise discomfort. Most patients describe the sensation as a warm prickling. Comfort levels vary by treatment area and individual sensitivity.
What is the downtime after Morpheus8?
Expect redness and mild swelling for 3–7 days. Some patients experience mild peeling as the skin heals. Most people can return to normal activities within a few days, though direct sun exposure should be avoided during recovery.
Can Morpheus8 be combined with other treatments?
Yes, Morpheus8 can complement other treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers or skin boosters. Dr Langdon can advise on appropriate combinations and timing during your consultation.
Is Morpheus8 safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. Unlike some laser treatments, Morpheus8 uses radiofrequency energy delivered through microneedles, which means it is suitable for all skin tones (Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI) with a lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
How does Morpheus8 compare to laser treatments?
Morpheus8 delivers radiofrequency energy beneath the skin surface via microneedles, targeting deeper tissue layers than most surface lasers. It is generally better tolerated across different skin types and has a shorter recovery period than ablative laser resurfacing.
Why we start with a consultation
Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.
During your consultation, Dr Langdon will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate.
