An Aesthetic Doctor's Guide to Wedding Planning

(tip: this applies to grooms too)

As the country comes out of lockdown, many of our patients who put their wedding plans on hold are beginning to consider what the post-pandemic wedding might look like.

When working with patients preparing for their wedding, Dr Langdon thoroughly understands the emotional challenges that such a moment brings. Her advice to brides, and increasingly grooms too, is plan well in advance to ensure your aesthetic treatments are carried out at the right time in order to give full effect and allow each treatment to support on and build on the other.

Dr Langdon suggests that your aesthetic wedding planner might include:

12-months:

Skin health is the foundation so start with a digital scan of your skin to highlight any imbalances or problem areas. Medical grade skincare from Obagi can help to treat a range of skin concerns while restoring skin health and balance. In addition, deep peels such as the Obagi Blue Radiance are excellent for evening out complexion.

9-months:

With your skin health improving it is now time to look at the structure and form for both the face and body. For the face, dermal fillers and thread lifts are used to lift and restore lost volume as well as increase definition.

For the body, CoolSculpting is the ultimate non-surgical treatment for targeting stubborn areas of fat. Best of all Dr Langdon was recongised as a Tatler Top Doctor for body treatments and can sculpt and define any areas of concern from arms to abdomen and thighs too.

6-months:

Real progress is being made and the focus is now on further improvements with anti-wrinkle injections and Ultherapy, both ideal for targeting fine lines and wrinkles. Ultherapy is particularly good and it will stimulate collagen production giving a lasting firmness.

For those planning a poolside honeymoon then cellulite can be a concern and for this, we recommend Emtone which combines acoustic wave therapy with radiofrequency.

If firmer abs or buttocks are of interest then Emsculpt is the world’s #1 muscle-building treatment, favourite of many A-list celebs.

3-months:

The focus is now on maintaining the results and for this, we recommend a course of HydraFacial treatments which can be combined with boosters or a low-grade peel such as the Fire & Ice.

1-month:

By now your skin is glowing and your confidence renewed. Final touch-ups can help to ensure you’re feeling and looking your best. A last-minute top up of your anti-wrinkle injections or final sculpting with a little filler is ideal.

With aesthetic treatments, there is no one size fits all approach, and it important you choose a practitioner who is willing to take the time to fully understand your concerns and your objectives. Just like an amazing wedding, proper planning will make a world of difference and our team can support you along the way.
