Threads are a popular choice for those looking to lift and tighten without surgery. At Berkshire Aesthetics we use both the Dr. K Regen Lift PDO Threads and APTOS threads. These are two of the most versatile threads that can be used alone or simultaneously to address a wide variety of ageing concerns.
Threads are applied in the clinic using a numbing cream or with a local anesthetic. Patients can expect to see some initial tightening with further improvement over several months as the threads are absorbed into the skin. This process helps to regenerate the skin and stimulate collagen production.

The Dr K threads are based on a new method that implants multiple mini-threads to create a network structure that acts as a support for the facial tissue.
The Regen threads are ideal for an immediate lifting effect which over time will also stimulate natural collagen production. Implanting threads will improve the appearance of minor wrinkles, nasal wrinkles, and loose skin.

Threads are used to lift and tighten the skin. The insertion of the threads will give an immediate lifting effect. Combined with this is a longer term collagen stimulation as the threads are absorbed by the body.
The threads work by renewing lost structure in the facial tissue. Multiple threads are inserted to create a network structure which can offset skin laxity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
A thread lift is ideal for those who do not want the downtime of a facelift. Patients who have light to moderate skin laxity can benefit the most. Suitability is best assessed by the doctor as the treatment is bespoke and can be tailored to suit most candidates.
The time of the procedure depends on the number of threads used but will typically take around 30 minutes to 1 hour.
The treatment is a one off with the results lasting around 12 and sometimes upto 18 months. In some instances the doctor might recommend a staged approach with a second treatment at 6 months.
With Dr K Regen threads downtime is around five days. Patients are advised to avoid makeup for 48 hours post-procedure.
Side effects are rare but can include irritation, infection or the sutures becoming visible under their skin. If you experience any issues please contact the clinic immediately.
With threads you will see an immediate lifting effect. Results will then improve further over the following few months as collagen production is stimulated.
