The HydraFacial treatment is a multi-step process designed to cleanse, hydrate, and rejuvenate your skin. Here is what you can expect during your session at Berkshire Aesthetics:
The first step involves removing dead skin cells and impurities from the surface of your skin. Using the HydraFacial device’s unique vortex technology, your skin is gently cleansed and exfoliated to reveal a fresh, clean layer underneath. HydaFacial cleanses and provides deep exfoliation using super serums to give the Hydrafacial signature gratifying glow.
Next, a gentle acid peel is applied to loosen dirt and debris from your pores without irritating, which is key to the hydrafacial experience. This step effectively removes impurities while maintaining your skin’s natural balance.
Using the device’s specialised suction technology, blackheads and other impurities are extracted from your pores. This step is painless and ensures your skin is deeply cleansed.
Your skin is then infused with nourishing serums packed with antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. These ingredients hydrate and protect your skin, leaving it plump and youthful.
The final step involves applying a protective layer to your skin to lock in moisture and nutrients. This ensures your skin remains hydrated and protected from environmental stressors.
The HydraFacial offers numerous benefits, making it one of the most sought-after treatments at Berkshire Aesthetics. Here are just a few reasons why clients love HydraFacial:
One of the most significant advantages of HydraFacial is that it delivers immediate, visible results. After one session, your skin will look clearer, brighter, and more hydrated.
HydraFacial is designed to be gentle enough for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Whether you have dry, oily, or combination skin, this treatment can be customised to meet your needs.
Unlike other skin treatments, HydraFacial is non-invasive and completely painless. There is no downtime, meaning you can return to normal activities immediately after your session.
HydraFacial can address many skin concerns, from fine lines and wrinkles to acne and pigmentation. Its multi-step process ensures your skin is treated from every angle.
By cleansing, hydrating, and protecting your skin, HydraFacial helps to improve your overall skin health. Regular treatments can result in a more youthful, radiant complexion over time.
HydraFacial suits almost everyone, making it an ideal choice for improving their skin’s appearance and health. Some of the most common skin concerns treated with HydraFacial include:
Fine Lines and Wrinkles: The hydrating serums and gentle exfoliation help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, leaving your skin looking smoother and more youthful.
Acne and Congestion: The extraction process removes dirt, oil, and impurities from your pores, making it an excellent treatment for acne-prone skin.
Hyperpigmentation: HydraFacial can help to even out your skin tone by reducing the appearance of pigmentation and sun damage.
Dryness: The hydrating serums used during the treatment provide intense moisture, making them ideal for dry skin.
Sensitive Skin: HydraFacial is gentle enough for sensitive skin, ensuring you can achieve glowing skin without irritation.
We recommend having a HydraFacial every four to six weeks for optimal results. This allows your skin to maintain its health and radiance while addressing ongoing concerns. However, the frequency of treatments can vary depending on your individual needs and goals. During your consultation at Berkshire Aesthetics, we will create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your skin.
At Berkshire Aesthetics, we offer a wide range of aesthetic treatments that can be combined with HydraFacial for enhanced results. Some popular combinations include:
HydraFacial and Dermal Fillers: Pairing HydraFacial with dermal fillers can help to achieve a more youthful appearance by addressing both skin texture and volume loss.
HydraFacial and Anti-Wrinkle Injections: This combination targets fine lines and wrinkles while improving your skin’s overall health and hydration.
HydraFacial and LED Light Therapy: Combining HydraFacial with LED light therapy can enhance the treatment’s effectiveness by reducing inflammation and promoting collagen production.
Our experienced clinicians will guide you in choosing the best combination of treatments to meet your unique skincare goals.

HydraFacial consists of a 6-step process: Detox, Deep cleanse and exfoliation, Acid Peel, Extraction, Hydrate and Rejuvenation. The treatment starts with lymphatic drainage to improve the skin’s circulation and to drain away toxins. It then deep cleanses the skin using a gentle vacuum and abrasive tip to exfoliate dead skin cells and excess sebum from the skin. Next, a Glysal peel, a mix of salicylic and glycolic acids that helps break up any dirt and oil clogging the pores, is applied to the skin. The HydraPeel tip is then used to vacuum out any blackheads, dirt, oil, and impurities in a gentle fashion without causing any skin breakage or discomfort to the patient. Once the skin has been deeply cleansed, a blend of hyaluronic acid and antioxidant-infused serum is applied to hydrate and nourish the skin. Lastly, a multifunction LED light mask is applied to the skin for more rejuvenation and soothing.
The HydraFacial treatment is suitable for all skin types. At Berkshire Aesthetics, we offer 6 different HydraFacial protocols designed to treat different types of skin conditions.
Skin health for life – uses serums containing antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid to boost hydration, deep cleanse and protect the skin from environmental damage.
Antiaging—This targeted protocol uses a multi-peptide anti-aging serum to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles while also improving the skin’s elasticity, resulting in visibly noticeable tightening and plumping of the skin.
Pigmentation—This brightening protocol is powered by the ZO Skin Health Brightalive serum, which is designed to brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of pigmentation.
Redness/ rosacea—This protocol has been designed to minimise the appearance of red and sensitised skin. It uses the ZO skin health Rozatrol Serum to soothe the skin through hydration and target excess sebum build-up.
Acne and congested skin—The acne protocol helps to improve active acne by deep cleansing the skin and reducing the build-up of excess oils. The skin is exfoliated using salicylic acid, and different-strength glycolic peels are applied.
Body—The body protocol has been designed to treat common areas such as the back, arms, and chest for body acne or keratosis pilaris (patches of dry, bumpy, and rough skin).
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment duration depends on the recommended protocol.
The standard HydraFacial ‘skin health for life’ protocol lasts 60 minutes, and the treatments with booster serums last 90 minutes.
What does the treatment feel like?
The HydraFacial treatment is very comfortable and relaxing for the patient. Patients will feel a gentle vacuum suction and abrasion on the skin from the handpiece.
A mild tingling sensation may also be present during applying the Glysal peel.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of treatments needed is dependent on the individual and their skin condition. Usually, a course of 6 treatments will be recommended at 4—to 6-week intervals for optimal results. Many of our patients, however, choose to have one every month to ensure their skin remains healthy, and the treatment really is a great little boost for your skin.
What do I need to do before a treatment?
Patients are advised to avoid excessive sun exposure for at least two weeks before treatment begins.
Patients are advised to avoid deep-depth chemical peels and laser resurfacing 4-6 weeks before treatment. Superficial/medium-depth peels should be completed 2 weeks before HydraFacial.
Patients are advised to follow a skincare routine their practitioner recommends to achieve the best treatment results.
Yes, HydraFacial is a very safe treatment that involves no downtime. The machine only uses safe vortex pressure and serums for extractions, so there is no risk of scarring or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Is there any downtime after a HydraFacial?
The HydraFacial treatment involves no downtime. Some patients may occasionally experience mild redness post-treatment, which should subside within 24 hours.
The risk of side effects occurring from HydraFacial is very low. Your therapist will check your suitability for treatment and contraindications before the treatment to minimise the risk of complications. Some of the possible side effects include an allergic reaction to the HydraFacial serums (some serums contain shellfish and aspirin derivatives – these will be discussed during your consultation and before any treatment is offered)
When can I expect to see results?
Results can be seen immediately after the first treatment. The skin will appear fresh, rejuvenated, and hydrated; this effect usually lasts up to 2 weeks. Optimal results are seen after the entire course of 6 treatments. Results can be maintained by undertaking the monthly treatment as part of a good skin health routine.
Following a HydraFacial treatment, patients are advised to keep their skin free of makeup and avoid heated therapies for at least 24 hours. They are also advised to continue using the recommended skincare regime to promote further hydration and rejuvenation. Additionally, patients should avoid sun exposure and use broad-spectrum sunscreen every day.
