Berkshire Aesthetics is uniquely placed as the leading clinic for CoolSculpting treatments in the UK. Our medical director is a member of the Allergan Medical Institute and provides a complications referral service to other clinics. Dr Langdon also speaks internationally on the safe delivery of the CoolSculpting treatment. Dr Langdon has also developed her own unique approach to treatment called the CoolCodes.
FaceTite works by makes a tiny incision in the treatment area (so small it doesn’t require stitches or leave a visible scar) and a cannula or thin metal probe is inserted into the incision point.
At the same time an electrode is passed over the skin’s surface to generate an electrical field which generates heat in the tissue below the skin’s surface. Typically heat the undersurface of the skin will reach upto 70ºC. This heating causes skin contraction and fat coagulation.
FaceTite is a minimally invasive surgical procedure. The treatment is performed in our clinic under local anesthetic. Patients who achieve the best results are typically those who have skin laxity (sagging). The age of patients are typically late 30s to late 50s with and good skin elasticity. To properly assess your suitability for the treatment a consultation with our doctor is required although in some instances we can make an initial assessment via photos or video consultation.
The treatment time is typically 1 to 2 hours in total.
FaceTite is a single session treatment. Results have been shown to be maintainable for upto five years vs a surgical face lift which can last for ten. This is not to say the results will be lost at this point but you will begin to see some reduction around this time similar to the natural ageing process.
You can expect some bruising and swelling for at least a week. The swelling can be significant in the first few days with noticeable swelling for upto two weeks in some instances.
The treatment areas will continue to feel numb for several weeks, so you should not be in pain during your FaceTite recovery.
You will be able to see the first signs of change after the first week and as the swelling subsidies. The full effects of the treatment are most evident around 16 weeks post-procedure.
On leaving the clinic post-procedure you will be asked to wear a compression garment to aid in your recovery. A course of antibiotics will also be provided to prevent any possible infection.
After two days you can shower and after one week you can resume regular activities including exercise. If your swelling hasn’t improved at that point please do contact the clinic.
