The latest generation of APTOS threads contain a combination of well-known collagen stimulators including PLLA and PCL, alongside hyaluronic acid, HA. APTOS threads are used to lift and tighten the skin. The insertion of the threads will give an immediate lifting effect. Combined with this is a longer term collagen stimulation as the threads are absorbed by the body.
The threads work by renewing lost structure in the facial tissue. Multiple threads are inserted to create a network structure which can offset skin laxity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
A thread lift is ideal for those who do not want the downtime of a facelift. Patients who have light to moderate skin laxity can benefit the most. Suitability is best assessed by the doctor as the treatment is bespoke and can be tailored to suit most candidates.
The time of the procedure depends on the number of threads used but will typically take around 30 minutes to 1 hour.
The treatment is a one off with the results lasting around 12 and sometimes upto 18 months. In some instances the doctor might recommend a staged approach with a second treatment at 6 months.
With Dr K Regen threads downtime is around five days. Patients are advised to avoid makeup for 48 hours post-procedure.
Side effects are rare but can include irritation, infection or the sutures becoming visible under their skin. If you experience any issues please contact the clinic immediately.
